Hi all. Matchbox is doing a fine job with their 1/18th scale cars, and this Collectible Motor Trend Series Jeep Liberty is no exception. Even in scale, this truck looks like it's ready for a camping trip with the kids, or a night on the town.
You can see a lot of correct detailing in the picture. From the model name on the door, to the roof rack, to the Goodyear Wranglers, this truck looks like it just rolled out of a dealer showroom.
The front is done up nicely with jeweled headlights, turn signals, and fog lights. The classic Jeep 7 bar grill and wide stance suggest an aggressive off-roader.

The back end is all correct, from the clear plastic taillights, 3rd brake light,  and reverse lights to the spare tire mounted on a chrome 5 spoke Jeep rim. The rear hatch opens with a swing up window, and a side opening door. The door pulls out, then swings. It even includes an instruction sheet, to keep you from damaging the door. If you open it without pulling it back, you will break it. More interior details are evident in the tie down hooks on the seat backs.

The engine compartment is highly detailed, but the monochrome black makes the features blend together. A couple of colored stickers or other markings would have set this compartment off even better. But overall it looks pretty good.
The interior of this Jeep shines. Multi-color dash, complete with gauges, and all the shift levers and controls you could possibly want. Even the mirrors look good in chrome plastic. They are so clear that they actually reflect objects clearly.
The chassis looks great, with a full chrome exhaust. The suspension pieces are very detailed, right down to the bolt heads. I was almost looking for grease fittings on this thing. The usual steerable front wheels are included, and the suspension is stationary.

This is a fine effort from Matchbox. The scaling of the car (interior dimensions compared to exterior dimensions) is very good. All this fun in a package that costs 19.99. Not a bad deal for a highly detailed truck that's sure to become an American Classic.
