Greenlight Collectibles Muscle Car Garage Stock and Custom Series 3 |
|||
| By now, everyone who collects realistic diecast cars knows about Greenlight Collectibles. Reasonably priced highly detailed models that are manufactured to suit every taste--Stock or Custom, GM, Ford, MOPAR. Their latest effort, Series 3 of the popular Muscle Car Garage line is another hit! Read on to see some of the reasons these should be in your collection. | |||

| Sealed in the now familiar clamshell, the packages pop off the shelves with vibrant red and orange MCG logos on a blue field, not to mention vibrant paint work on the cars themselves. | |||
|
The pair of 442s show off the paint work and body details that we all like to see. The correct 'tooth' on the hood, 442 and Olds Rocket on the front, and the period correct black/gold with 442 and W30 tampos tells you these are special. They even have chrome trim rings on the wheels. |

| The two Cudas, while similar, have one distinct difference. The hood. The Stock version has a Shaker hood, with the air cleaner mounted to the engine for added realism. The Custom version (see below) has a solid hood. And just in case you forgot what a 'Shaker' is, Greenlight tampoed it for you under the hood! | |||

| The two Mustangs are unique--first, one is a convertible, the only one in the set. It also gets the only two tone interior. Second, what's interesting is that the main body of the car is shared. The drop top windshield piece and the hardtop roof section are plastic, and interchangeable (during manufacture of course, you wouldn't want to drill these apart now, would you?). | |||

The tampos are so crisp that the tiny 'Coronet' and 60's style Dodge triangle badge can be seen (look directly above the headlight) and read on both the stock and custom versions--even without camera magnification. | ||

| I didn't forget to get at least one close-up for you Camaro fans. Above is the pair of them to show off the aggressive look, front and rear paint details that every car in this line shares, and the tiny license plate tampo. | |||

Click the thumbnails below to see a full size picture of each set of cars. The numbers/words below each car are the tampoed license plates and the states they represent. These are also on the clear display bases. |

Although I'm a big GM fan, the Custom 71 Charger is my set favorite. You just can't go wrong with flames! |

Don't forget--there are the very desirable Green Machines in this release. Although I wasn't lucky enough to get one, here's the breakdown for this release: The Series 3 production run is 6,000 units total per car (5,880 regulars + 120 GMs). Distribution and availability is also changing for 2007. Target has picked up the Muscle Car Garage and Barrett-Jackson lines; however they aren’t putting them in their stores until later this summer. MCG – Series 4 and Barrett-Jackson – Series 2 should be the first Series in their stores. So at this point in time, Series 3 will not be in their stores. But they are at your favorite Online Dealers, K-Mart and Toys R Us. Greenlight Collectibles has a number of other collectibles and racing products available, including transporters, Brickyard 400 limited editions, and other promos.
